What is Really Behind Becoming Your Best-Self
If you think becoming your best-self will make you perfect, I’m sorry to disappoint you – it doesn’t work like that. We are all human and no one is perfect. The definition of “Becoming Your Best-Self” varies from the person to person. We do not have the same goals nor the same vision for our lives because we are each unique..
Becoming your best-self is about improving all areas of your life to inspire growth, limit commotions/chaos/distractions and focus on goals you want to achieve. It is based on changing from a fixed mindset to a growing mindset using positive thinking, creating a new sense of confidence.
Remember the saying ” There is only one way to eat an elephant”? One bite at a time. Being your best-self takes time and perseverance, but it’s the greatest feeling one can have. Greatest feeling!
Through our lives, over the years, we encounter the good, the bad and the ugly. We all do. For some, life is easy; for others it is harder. As we women encounter our mild-life reflection, we question ourselves again and again. We may lose confidence in ourselves, lose our voice or question our current paths. We owe it ourselves to STOP all this because at the the end of the day, what really count is YOU! Please let me remind you that is has nothing to do with being selfish. If you don’t take care of yourself, who will?
A friend of mine once told me, “Your bucket is empty.” Umm… interesting choice of words. I was like, “What? ” He explained: Your bucket represents your physical and mental health. When your bucket is full you feel great, but when it’s empty you have zero give. You are exhausted and feel depleted, “Okay” I said “So how do you fill my bucket?
Here was my answer. Take time to pause, time to reflect and time to focus on YOU! It is time to assess all areas of your life – and it’s never too late. But it’s work. Hard work.
Personally, I never took the time to assess all areas of my life until my bucket was empty. But once I did, I was able to pinpoint where my struggles were. That was step 1.
Step 2. I was looking on the internet to try figure it all out – yes, that was a mistake. Jumping from one thing to another, never achieving anything.
Step 3. I hired a coach, and it’s from there that I was able to start envisioning my best-self. Sometimes it’s about guidance, about tips and tricks needed to re-balance, realign yourself, and start feeling alive again. Finally, it was about accountability, I needed to own it.
To sum it up, am I at my best-self today? Yes! I s my work done? No! Through inspired growth, I continue to improve area of my life, and always will.
My question to you is: Is your bucket full or empty?
All the water in the oceans won’t fill a bucket with a hole in it.
